Sergio Aguero has sat out training ahead of Manchester City's crucial encounter with Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

It is unclear whether the striker is struggling with an injury or if manager Manuel Pellegrini has given him a rest before Tuesday's tie at the Etihad Stadium.

Meanwhile, David Silva, Aleksandar Kolarov, Stevan Jovetic and Edin Dzeko were also absent from the session on Monday.

City are currently at the bottom of the Group E table after taking just two points from their opening four games of the competition.

The Premier League champions realistically need to beat Bayern tomorrow night if they want to keep their chances of reaching the last 16 alive.
