Liverpool announced that 20-year-old right-back Conor Bradley has signed a new long-term contract with the club.

Liverpool have announced that Conor Bradley has signed a new long-term contract with the club.

The 20-year-old right-back - who was due to become a free agent at the end of the current campaign - is celebrating his fourth year as a Reds player following his arrival from Dungannon United in 2019.

Since rising through the club's academy system, where he established a reputation as an attacking full-back, Bradley has made six appearances for Jurgen Klopp's side, making his debut against Norwich City in the 2021-22 EFL Cup.

Bradley registered his first goal contribution for Liverpool a few months later, setting up fellow academy starlet Kaide Gordon in a 4-1 FA Cup thrashing of Shrewsbury Town, prior to which he also came off the bench in a Champions League win over AC Milan at San Siro.

A terrific loan spell with Bolton Wanderers in the 2022-23 season saw Bradley amass seven goals and six assists in 53 games for the Trotters, although a back injury has hampered his progress for the past few months.

However, the defender has now made a full recovery and made his first appearance of the season in Thursday's 4-0 Europa League win over LASK Linz, coming off the bench for the final eight minutes.

Klopp warmly embraced Bradley at full time as Liverpool soared into the last 16, and he could not praise the right-back highly enough in his post-game press conference, saying: "So happy. So, so happy for the boys.

"We have some super talents here, I have to say. You saw it tonight again. Really smart, brave, good footballer. After that long time, it would have been perfect in this week if he could've had a few minutes in the U21s, for example.

"But we work in a high-performance industry if you want. It means Tuesday and Thursday makes a difference. So, Tuesday [he] was not right but [on] Thursday a few minutes was OK, so we try to get that.

"It's a pure joy to see him back in training, he [Bradley] had a top pre-season with us and all of a sudden he was out for a long time, so it's good to have him back."

Bradley has already won 13 senior caps for Northern Ireland, representing his nation in Euro 2024 qualifiers and Nations League clashes, but he has not played for the Green and White Army since June owing to his back injury.

The 20-year-old will be in contention to make the Liverpool squad when the Reds take on Fulham in Sunday's Premier League clash at Anfield.
