Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Southampton

Sports Mole rounds up title-chasing Liverpool's injury and suspension news ahead of Friday's Premier League clash with Southampton at St Mary's.

Liverpool will be looking to keep up the charge towards a first league title since 1990 when they take on Southampton at St Mary's on Friday.

Jurgen Klopp admitted that his side were "lucky" to scrape a dramatic late 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur last time out - a result which lifted them two points clear of Manchester City.

The champions will be expected to return to top spot when they host Cardiff City on Wednesday night, but with Pep Guardiola's side in FA Cup action this weekend victory for Liverpool will ensure a longer spell at the summit.

The title ultimately remains out of their hands, but all they can do now is attempt to win every game left - starting on Friday night.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest injury and suspension news for Liverpool ahead of another must-win contest.

Liverpool's elation at the late win over Spurs was tempered somewhat by concerns over an ankle injury picked up by Virgil van Dijk during the game. However, the Dutch colossus has since claimed that he will be "fine" in time for Saturday's game having returned to training as normal.
