Liverpool defender Sebastian Coates has praised 'big brother' Luis Suarez for helping him settle in England.

Liverpool defender Sebastian Coates has praised Luis Suarez's efforts to help him settle in the Premier League.

The 21-year-old joined from Nacional in the summer and has revealed that Uruguay international Suarez encouraged him to make the move.

"He is like a bigger brother, not like a father. I appreciate very much all the help he has given me since I've been here," admitted Coates.

"I'm settling in very well. I'm getting used to the city, getting used to the people and getting used to English football."

Coates has seen just 243 minutes of action for the club so far, with Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel currently occupying the centre-back berths for the Merseyside club.
