Christian Benteke urges Liverpool team to "show more" following Man United loss

Liverpool striker Christian Benteke says that he and his teammates need to "show more" following their defeat to Manchester United.

Liverpool striker Christian Benteke has called on his teammates to "show more" after they stumbled to defeat against arch rivals Manchester United at the weekend.

At 2-0 down, the Belgian was able to drag the Reds back into the game with a goal in the 84th minute, but United's summer signing Anthony Martial struck two minutes later to give the hosts a 3-1 win at Old Trafford.

"For my own confidence it was good, [it is] for a striker to score, but at the end of the day I would have rather taken the three points and so I'm disappointed," Benteke told the club's official website.

"We have to show more. When you play for a club like Liverpool, you have to show more. That's what we're going to do now in training - work hard, work hard and try to play well."

So far in the Premier League this season, Brendan Rodgers's side have won two games, lost two and drawn one.
