Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has expressed his belief that Brendan Rodgers is battling for his future at the club.
The Reds fell to a 3-0 defeat at rivals Manchester United on Sunday, which leaves them languishing in 10th place in the Premier League.
Rodgers has come under fire after his side's seventh defeat in 16 league matches, which followed their group-stage exit from the Champions League in midweek.
"Brendan Rodgers is under pressure," Carragher told the Liverpool Echo. "He was manager of the year but he has to get results.
"You expect them to do well after spending that kind of money. They are looking to be in the top four but they have failed in the Champions League.
"It will be hard to catch United because they are not in Europe. Arsenal will be going for fourth as well. If they don't get top four then he will be under pressure."
Liverpool face Bournemouth in the League Cup on Wednesday evening.
