Dougie Freedman, Oscar Garcia, Brian McDermott, Nigel Pearson up for monthly Championship award

The nominees for November's Championship Player of the Month are revealed as Dougie Freedman, Oscar Garcia, Brian McDermott and Nigel Pearson.

The nominees for November's Championship Manager of the Month have been revealed as Dougie Freedman, Oscar Garcia, Brian McDermott and Nigel Pearson.

Although Freedman's Bolton Wanderers had their eight-game unbeaten run ended by Middlesbrough in the final game of the month this weekend, they began November with three straight victories over Bournemouth, Millwall and Watford.

The 10-game winless start to the season is now a distant memory for Freedman as he looks to continue Bolton's charge up the table and into the top half.

November was an unbeaten month for Garcia and Brighton & Hove Albion as three straight victories against Doncaster, Blackburn and Wigan were followed by Saturday's draw at Bournemouth.

The Seagulls are coping well without main striker Leonardo Ulloa and the Argentine may find it hard to oust Ashley Barnes when he returns from injury.

Like the two teams above, McDermott's Leeds won their first three games of the month against Yeovil, Charlton and Middlesbrough, with Ross McCormack netting seven in those three, before going down by a single goal at Blackburn last weekend.

Leeds are now just two points outside the playoff places and starting to look like genuine playoff contenders. The recent news of a big investment in the club should see plenty of January spending and a likely run at the top six.

Last, but certainly not least, is the manager of the division's league leaders.

Pearson has led Leicester to nine victories in their last 12 matches and they now sit three points clear of fellow pacesetters Burnley and Queens Park Rangers, who have stumbled of late.

November saw nine points from a possible 12 collected, with the one and only loss a sore one at home to East Midlands rivals Forest.
