Republic of Ireland captain Robbie Keane scores 21 minutes into his LA Galaxy debut.

Robbie Keane made a scoring debut for LA Galaxy as they beat San Jose 2-0 yesterday.

It took the Republic of Ireland captain just 21 minutes to open his account, running onto a David Beckham free kick before rounding the opposition goalkeeper and placing the ball into the net.

"It couldn't have gone better for me. When you come to a new team, it's always good to get the first goal,” he said.

"When you go a few games without a goal, it starts to play on your mind."

The 31-year-old joined Galaxy from Spurs last week for £2.2m.
