Ipswich Town: Jonathan Williams back at Crystal Palace with groin injury

Ipswich Town announce that on-loan midfielder Jonathan Williams has returned to Crystal Palace with a fresh groin injury.

Ipswich Town have announced that on-loan playmaker Jonathan Williams has returned to Crystal Palace with a groin injury.

The Welsh international is in his third stint on loan in Suffolk, but it looks like he won't play for the Blues again this season after he was withdrawn shortly before half time in an Under-21 game yesterday.

Ipswich said on their website this afternoon that Williams had returned to Palace for treatment that will prepare him for next season.

The midfielder first joined Ipswich last year and impressed during his first spell on loan before re-joining the Suffolk side earlier this season.

His second stint was cut short because of a serious injury in November and bad luck has once again led to the end of his stay at Portman Road.
