Everton defender Phil Jagielka has called for the summer transfer window to shut before the start of the new season.
A number of football managers have questioned the timing of the market once again following some late moves before the September 2 deadline.
The Toffees signed Gareth Barry, Romelu Lukaku and James McCarthy all on deadline day, but Jagielka has suggested that late arrivals and departures can disrupt the squad.
"It is strange starting the season, playing a few games, and knowing that potentially a few of the players are going to leave," the Liverpool Echo quotes Jagielka as saying.
"I would like it to be moved two weeks earlier so when you start the season, you know they are the players you have got."
Everton lost midfielder Marouane Fellaini to Manchester United on the final day of the window.
