Everton's Steven Naismith pleased with early goalscoring form

Steven Naismith says that he is happy with his start to the season after finding the back of the net three times in as many Premier League games.

Everton forward Steven Naismith is content with the start of his campaign after scoring three goals in as many Premier League games.

The Scotsman found the back of the net in the Toffees' 2-2 draw with Leicester City, their 2-2 draw with Arsenal and last month's 6-3 defeat to Chelsea.

"It has been a good start to the season for me," the Liverpool Echo quotes Naismith as saying. "I enjoyed my pre-season and I've managed to kick on from there. I've managed to score a few goals.

"I started off pre-season as the striker but since then I've dropped a little deeper into the hole. I haven't done anything different at all. I'm just another year older and another year wiser."

The 27-year-old moved to Goodison Park from Rangers in 2012.
