Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew open to long-term stay for Emmanuel Adebayor

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew is open to Emmanuel Adebayor staying at the club beyond the summer.

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has claimed that Emmanuel Adebayor's future at Selhurst Park is an "open book".

The Togolese striker signed for the Eagles on a free transfer in January after having his contract at Tottenham Hotspur terminated in September.

Adebayor scored his first goal for the Eagles on February 13, but it did little to change the result as Watford sealed a 2-1 win.

The forward's contract only runs until the end of the season, but Pardew is open to extending his stay.

"On his day [Adebayor] can be one of the best players in this division," Pardew told reporters in Friday's press conference.

"It's an open book for Ade and us, really. We'll run with each other to the end of the year and see what we want to do."

Palace will take on West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
