Crystal Palace 'turn attention to Everton midfielder James McCarthy'

Crystal Palace are reportedly interested in Everton midfielder James McCarthy, but a move for the player will hinge on whether or not Jack Wilshere joins on loan.

Crystal Palace are reportedly prepared to move for Everton midfielder James McCarthy if they fail to land Jack Wilshere.

The Eagles are believed to be keen to sign Wilshere on a season-long loan, but they are competing with Bournemouth and Roma.

According to Sky Sports News, Palace are interested in McCarthy, but a move is only likely to be made once they learn of Wilshere's decision.

It is believed that Everton are unwilling to offload the midfielder, who is currently out of action with a groin injury.

The Republic of Ireland international joined Everton from Wigan Athletic for £13m on the final day of the transfer window in the summer of 2013.
