Report: Jose Mourinho to be sacked if Liverpool beat Chelsea

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich will sack manager Jose Mourinho if they lose their upcoming visit of Liverpool.

Jose Mourinho will be sacked as Chelsea manager if Liverpool win at Stamford Bridge next Saturday, according to reports.

The Blues' Premier League title defence took another turn for the worse on Saturday when Mourinho's men lost 2-1 at West Ham United for their fifth league defeat in 10 outings.

The Portuguese, 52, was sent to the stands for his reaction to referee Jon Moss's decision to issue Nemanja Matic with a second yellow card on the stroke of half time.

Consequently, the Chelsea hierarchy are growing concerned with their manager's behaviour, and defeat in the upcoming visit of Liverpool would be the final straw, according to The Mirror.

Speculation is rife that owner Roman Abramovich has lined up Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola to replace the Portuguese.

The Londoners sit 15th in the Premier League table, 11 points behind co-leaders Manchester City and Arsenal.
