Result: Genk 1-1 Chelsea

Chelsea settle for a 1-1 Champions League draw away to Belgian side Genk.

Chelsea have missed the opportunity to qualify for the last 16 in the Champions League tonight after a 1-1 draw away against Belgian side Genk.

Andrew Villas-Boas's side took the lead on 24 minutes when Ramires found the net after some one-two with Fernando Torres.

The visitors could have doubled the advantage five minutes before the break when Thomas Buffell conceded a penalty. Centre-back David Luiz was the surprise choice to take but the chance was missed with a save from Laszlo Koteles.

Genk fought back strong after the restart and claimed their equaliser at the hour mark when Fabien Camus set up Jelle Vossen to shoot in from close range into the middle.

The Blues fought back hard but failed to capitalise on multiple chances towards the end of play, including near misses for Frank Lampard and Luiz.

Next up for Chelsea in the competition is an away trip to Bayer Leverkusen on November 23.
