Chelsea transfer news: London rivals interested in out-of-favour duo?

Chelsea may reportedly attract interest in two of their fringe players from one of their London rivals during the January transfer window.

Two of Chelsea's fringe players have allegedly emerged as potential targets for one of their London rivals.

As has been anticipated for months, the Blues are currently open to offers for several of their players who have either barely featured under Enzo Maresca or only appeared in cup competitions.

On Sunday, it was reported that Cesare Casadei could be the first out of the door if Chelsea are able to agree a fee with an Italian club over the coming days.

A team also needs to be found for Ben Chilwell, who has not featured since a 45-minute outing versus Barrow in a September EFL Cup tie.

Nevertheless, according to The Telegraph, West Ham United are monitoring the situations of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Carney Chukwuemeka.

Are both players available?

Although Maresca has openly acknowledged that "anything can happen" with the future of Dewsbury-Hall, Casadei's likely exit and Romeo Lavia's injury issues put that in doubt.

That is despite the 26-year-old - who cost £30m when joining from Leicester City in the summer - playing for just 55 minutes in the Premier League across five outings.

While 15 appearances have been made in total, there is a feeling that the Englishman remains at least fourth in the pecking order and is unlikely to be viewed as higher when everyone is fit.

Meanwhile, Chukwuemeka has featured for 130 minutes across five outings in cup competitions, and Maresca is known to want the 21-year-old to start earning regular football.

With Chelsea reportedly insistent that a £40m release clause must be met if he is to be sold, Chukwuemeka appears most likely to leave Stamford Bridge on loan.

Pair among several West Ham targets?

At a time when Julen Lopetegui continues to battle to save his job at the London Stadium, West Ham are seemingly targeting a wide array of players.

Dewsbury-Hall and Chukwuemeka would both add something in creative areas, yet it is suggested that the Hammers are eager to sign replacements for the injured Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio.

Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker Hwang Hee-chan and Brighton & Hove Albion forward Evan Ferguson are each said to be on their radar.

The report adds that loans are West Ham's priority given their vast financial outlay during the summer transfer window.
