Sports Mole previews the women's Olympic semi-final clash between Canada and United States at Old Trafford.

Geographic neighbours Canada and the United States clash in the second of the women's Olympic semi-finals on Monday at Old Trafford.

Canada advanced to this stage after finishing second in Group F behind Sweden, while they beat Team GB 2-0 in the quarter-finals to book their spot in the final four.

The US have impressively won all four matches at the tournament thusfar, topping Group G, before overcoming a stern New Zealand side in the previous round.

The United States, who won gold in 2008, have won four of the last five meetings between the two rivals, but both sides have strikers in form ahead of the clash.

Abby Wambach has struck four goals in four games for the US, while Melissa Tancredi and Christine Sinclair also have four strikes to their name.

Both sides are expected to name unchanged lineups for the match, with each naming three strikers.

Possible lineups:

Canada: McLeod; Moscato, Wilkinson, Sesselmann, Nault; Matheson, Scott, Schmidt; Sinclair, Tancredi, Filigno

United States: Solo; Rampone, O'Hara, Le Peilbet, Buehler; Lloyd, Rapinoe, Heath; Cheney, Morgan, Wambach
