Late Stephen Ward goal earns draw for Brighton against Bournemouth

Late goal by Stephen Ward ensures Brighton draw against Bournemouth

Brighton & Hove Albion scored a goal in the last few minutes to snatch a draw against Bournemouth at the Amex Stadium, after the Cherries took the lead through a penalty from Lewis Grabban.

In the 13th minute, Inigo Calderon fouled Marc Pugh in the box. Despite protests from the Brighton players, the spot kick was converted by Grabban to put the Cherries into the lead.

Leonardo Ulloa attempted to equalise immediately for the home side, but his shot was comfortably saved.

Brighton were dominant after conceding the goal, getting plenty of chances in, but were unable to pull level in the first half.

After the break, Grabban had an effort saved by the keeper down low for the Cherries, while a powerful shot from outside the area by Kazenga LuaLua struck the bar for the home side.

Brighton kept pressing, and right at the end of normal time, Stephen Ward's header, in a congested penalty area, ensured a share of the points.
