Marinus Dijkhuizen: 'Brentford relieved by first home win'

Marinus Dijkhuizen says that he is relieved that Brentford picked up their first home win of the season by beating Preston North End 2-1 in the Championship.

Brentford manager Marinus Dijkhuizen has said that he is relieved that the team picked up their first home win of the season against Preston North End.

The Bees were behind after just 30 seconds, but second-half goals from Lasse Vibe and Marco Djuricin completed the fightback.

"It was a big relief for us and I really enjoyed the second half," Dijkhuizen told the club's official website.

"There was a spirit in the crowd from how we played. We were 1-0 down inside 30 seconds and struggled in the first 30 minutes of the game but then we got better and better in the game. It was great to win it in the second-half. We needed the win for me and for the players, staff, for myself and for the crowd. It was a big win for us today,

"We should have finished the game off. We had a lot of chances to make it 3-1. You could feel that the crowd were enjoying it and it was great to have them behind our squad. It was good to win at home and I enjoyed the celebrations a lot."

The win moves Brentford up to 17th in the Championship table.
