Phil Parkinson hails "tremendous" Bradford City

Phil Parkinson pays tribute to Bradford following his side's 2-0 win over Oldham Atletic.

Phil Parkinson has paid tribute to his Bradford City side for a "tremendous performance" in this afternoon's 2-0 win over Oldham Athletic.

Billy Clarke's second-half brace saw Parkinson's side leapfrog the Latics and move to within two points of the playoff positions in League One.

The Bantams surrendered a two-goal lead to Fleetwood Town last week, and the Bradford boss praised his troops for the way in which they have bounced back.

"We were all hurting after last week - players and supporters - but we responded together as a football club and you could feel that all around the ground," he told Sky Sports News.

"Oldham are a good side and we gave them respect, but I think we had the better chances.

"We lost defender Andrew Davies with a hamstring injury after only 17 minutes, but I thought Gary MacKenzie, who came on in his place, was magnificent."

City resume their playoff charge when they host Chesterfield at Valley Parade on Tuesday.
