Rio Ferdinand congratulates Bournemouth for promotion

Rio Ferdinand hails the rise of Bournemouth after the club all but sealed their promotion to the Premier League.

Rio Ferdinand has congratulated Bournemouth after the club all but sealed their promotion to the Premier League.

A 3-0 win over Bolton Wanderers last night saw Eddie Howe's side move three points clear of third-placed Middlesbrough, but the Cherries' superior goal difference means that they are unlikely to be caught on the final day of the season.

Ferdinand, who was on loan at Dean Court from West Ham United at the start of his career, admits that the club's rise through the divisions is an incredible story.

Bournemouth play their final game of the campaign on Saturday when they travel to Charlton Athletic.
