Blackburn Rovers boss Paul Lambert vows to remain "fully focused"

Paul Lambert vows to help end Blackburn Rovers' season on a high despite signalling his intention to leave the Championship club at the end of the season.

Paul Lambert has insisted that he will remain "fully focused" for the remainder of the season despite signalling his intention to depart as Blackburn Rovers boss at the end of the current campaign.

The 46-year-old, who took control at Ewood Park in November, will leave his position this summer after activating a release clause in his contract.

Blackburn still have Rotherham United and Reading to face before the end of the Championship season, however, and Lambert has said that he is "determined" to end his tenure on a high.

"I would like to place on record my thanks to the owners, and especially the players, staff and fans for the tremendous backing and support I have received since I arrived," Lambert told Blackburn's official website.

"It's a brilliant club, with great people, and I wish it every success in the future. For now, I remain fully focused and determined to try to win the final two games of the season, starting this Saturday against Rotherham."

Lambert, who has won 10 of his 31 league games in charge of Rovers, became Blackburn's seventh permanent manager in seven years when he took the position towards the end of 2015.
