Birmingham bring an end to Brighton's five-game winning streak with a 1-0 win this afternoon, courtesy of a goal from Chris Burke.

Brighton & Hove Albion's five-game winning streak has come to an abrupt end today with a 1-0 loss to Birmingham City.

The visitors took the lead after 27 minutes through a stunning Chris Burke strike that gave Thomas Kuszczak no chance.

Leroy Lita then squandered a golden chance to double his side's lead when he was sent through on goal, but he scuffed his effort into the grateful arms of Kuszczak.

Brighton pushed forward in the second half as they looked for an equaliser, but despite their dominance they failed to carve out a meaningful chance and were forced to settle for the defeat.

Despite the loss, Brighton remain top of the Championship table, while Birmingham move up to 13th.
