Half-Time Report: No goals at Oakwell

Barnsley and Reading remain level at half time at Oakwell following a goalless first 45 minutes.

Barnsley and Reading have headed into half time level following a goalless first half at Oakwell this evening.

Both sides made an attacking start to the match, as Pavel Pogrebnyak tried to break from midfield inside the opening minute, before Jason Scotland looked to get a cross in for the home side at the other end.

Scotland continued to pose a threat for the hosts, sending an effort wide before testing Alex McCarthy, who was able to keep hold of the ball.

The Reading keeper had to be sharp again towards the end of the half as David Fox lined up a strike, but Pogrebnyak and Hal Robson-Kanu ensured that the visitors continued to apply pressure in front of the Barnsley goal as well.

Adam Le Fondre had a chance in stoppage time for Nigel Adkins's side, but the striker miscued, ensuring a goalless end to the first half.
