Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho arrives in Germany in order to undergo his medical ahead of a season-long loan switch to Bayern Munich.

Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho has arrived in Germany ahead of undergoing a medical with Bayern Munich.

Despite spending just over a year-and-a-half at Camp Nou, Barcelona have agreed to allow the Brazil international to spend the season on loan at Bayern.

However, while the Bundesliga champions officially confirmed the developments on Friday, the playmaker is still to complete a medical at the German side.

That should take place at some point on Sunday, with the 27-year-old having been photographed with supporters at Bayern's training facilities.

Should the formalities be finalised, Coutinho is expected to feature in the squad when Bayern take on Schalke 04 on Saturday.

Nico Kovac's team began the campaign with a 2-2 draw at home to Hertha Berlin.
