Ronaldinho hails "great player" Neymar

Former Brazil international Ronaldinho backs "great player" Neymar, who has 46 goals in 67 games for his country, "to make history" for the Selecao.

Former Brazil international Ronaldinho has backed Barcelona attacker Neymar to "make history" for the South American country.

Ronaldinho, 35, scored 33 times in 97 appearances for Brazil between 1999 and 2013 and was a key part of their World Cup success in 2002.

Neymar, who is captain of his country at the age of 23, has already struck 46 times in 67 games for the Selecao and Ronaldinho is confident that the attacker will go on to achieve great things for his international team.

"He's a great player and he's certainly going to make history. Neymar will repeat what other Brazilians have done before him," Ronaldinho told Marca.

Brazil's record goal-scorer Pele struck 77 times in 91 games between 1957 and 1971, while Ronaldo, Romario and Zico are also currently above Neymar in the scoring list.
