How Barcelona could line up against Getafe

Sports Mole looks at how Barcelona could line up in Saturday afternoon's La Liga clash with Getafe.

Barcelona will be looking to make it back-to-back La Liga wins for the first time this season when they travel to Getafe on Saturday afternoon.

The Spanish champions have struggled for form in the early stages of the 2019-20 campaign but did record a 2-1 home victory over Villarreal on Tuesday night.

Ernesto Valverde's side are currently fifth in the table heading into Week Seven – four points behind leaders Real Madrid on the same number of matches.

The clash with Getafe is an important fixture for Barca considering that their next league game is at home to Sevilla on October 6.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the Catalan giants – without a win in any of their four away matches in all competitions this season – could line up against their capital hosts.

POSS BAR XI vs. GET

Out: Jordi Alba (hamstring), Samuel Umtiti (foot)
Doubtful: Lionel Messi (groin)

Ousmane Dembele made his recovery from a hamstring problem as a half-time substitute in Tuesday's narrow win over Villarreal.

However, there was more bad news surrounding Lionel Messi, who only lasted 45 minutes due to an adductor issue. The Argentine has not yet been officially ruled out of this match despite Barca confirming an injury, although reports in Spain suggest that he will be absent from the team's next three games.

As a result, Dembele could be in line to join Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann in the final third of the field, while Frenkie de Jong is also expected to return to the middle of the park after starting on the bench against Villarreal.

Arthur's goal against the Yellow Submarine could be enough to see the Brazilian keep his spot in the middle of the park, with the unsettled Ivan Rakitic battling to make the bench.

Elsewhere, Samuel Umtiti and Jordi Alba are still on the sidelines with foot and hamstring injuries respectively. As a result, Junior Firpo is once again expected to line up at left-back, although Valverde does have the option of switching Sergi Roberto to right-back and Nelson Semedo to the opposite side.
