Robert Lewandowski will lead the Barcelona line in Tuesday's Champions League contest with Bayern Munich.

Robert Lewandowski will lead the Barcelona line in Tuesday night's Champions League contest with Bayern Munich at Allianz Arena.

The Poland international moved between the clubs over the summer, leaving Bayern after 344 goals in 375 appearances for the Bundesliga giants.

Lewandowski has made a flying start to his career at Camp Nou, meanwhile, scoring nine times in six appearances, including a hat trick against Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League last week.

As expected, the 34-year-old will play at centre-forward for the visitors, while there are also spots in the final third of the field for Raphinha and Ousmane Dembele.

Lewandowski's introduction is one of six changes from the side that started Saturday's 4-0 success over Cadiz, with head coach Xavi recalling a number of key players for this contest.

Jules Kounde, Andreas Christensen and Marcos Alonso come into the defence, with Hector Bellerin, Gerard Pique and Alejandro Balde dropping out at Allianz Arena.

In midfield, there is a return for Pedri, who takes the place of Frenkie de Jong, with Gavi and Sergio Busquets also featuring in the middle of the park for the La Liga outfit.

Meanwhile, Memphis Depay and Ferran Torres are the two players to drop out of the forward line, with Xavi going with what he seemingly considers to be his strongest attacking trident.

A strong bench includes the likes of Frenkie de Jong, Ferran Torres, Ansu Fati, Memphis and Franck Kessie, with Barcelona now boasting a lot of depth due to their summer business.

It is unclear who will start at right-back between Kounde and Ronald Araujo, but the former could ultimately be moved across to the right due to Bayern's pace and power in the wide areas.

Alonso only made his La Liga debut for Barcelona as a late substitute against Cadiz, but the Spain international has been selected in the starting side here.

As for Bayern, Dayot Upamecano is preferred to Matthijs de Ligt in the middle of the defence, while the only other major talking point comes further forward, with Jamal Musiala given the nod over Serge Gnabry, who is among the substitutes for the German champions.

Sadio Mane will seemingly operate in a central position for the home team, with Leroy Sane off the right, and Thomas Muller playing in the number 10 position.

Both sides have three points on the board in Group C, with Barcelona beating Plzen 5-1 last week, and Bayern recording an impressive 2-0 victory away to Inter Milan.
