Injured Stefan Savic out of Madrid derby

A calf complaint will keep Atletico Madrid centre-back Stefan Savic from turning out against rivals Real Madrid on Saturday.

Atletico Madrid defender Stefan Savic has been ruled out of Saturday's clash against rivals Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.

The defender, who has started Atletico's last two matches, suffered a calf injury during the 0-0 draw with PSV Eindhoven last night.

A subsequent scan has revealed a grade two muscle injury, which is expected to keep Savic sidelined for around three weeks.

The 25-year-old has made 16 appearances in all competitions for Diego Simeone's men this season.
