Scott Marshall: 'Business as usual at Aston Villa following Paul Lambert exit'

Aston Villa caretaker boss Scott Marshall says that everything is continuing as normal at the club following the departure of Paul Lambert.

Aston Villa caretaker boss Scott Marshall has insisted that daily activities are continuing as normal following the departure of manager Paul Lambert.

The Scotsman was sacked by the Premier League club earlier this week following a 10-game winless run in the top flight.

Ahead of this weekend's FA Cup fifth-round tie against Leicester City, Marshall took control of the training session with the first team.

"The immediate thing for me was to take training this morning," Marshall told reporters in this afternoon's press conference.

"We have come in this morning and not changed anything in particular, we got the lads out and preparing for the game on Sunday, as we have been doing. The job was to get on the field and get on with things."

Tim Sherwood, Jurgen Klinsmann and Neil Lennon have been touted as possible candidates for the permanent vacancy.
