Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy has revealed that he would like to leave the club in the January transfer window as he wants a "new challenge".

The Frenchman, who has made just 13 Premier League appearances for Arsene Wenger's side since joining three years ago, has suffered from injuries in his time at the Emirates.

The 32-year-old's playing time has also been hampered by the arrival of Hector Bellerin, who has often featured ahead of Debuchy.

"I want to leave, to find a new challenge in January," the 32-year-old told RMC Sport. "The fact I'm playing well will give me opportunities.

"We'll see if there are good opportunities in the transfer window. I'm open."

Debuchy has 18 months left on his current deal at the Emirates after joining Arsenal from Newcastle United.
