Marseille confim that they have rejected a loan bid from Arsenal for midfielder Lucho Gonzalez.

Marseille manager Didier Deschamps has confimed that his club have rejected a loan bid from Arsenal for Argentine international Lucho Gonzalez.

Andre Ayew and Mathieu Valbuena have also been linked with a move from the Ligue 1 side to the Gunners, but Deschamps said no approaches have been made.

"I spoke to him [Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger] and the one that really interests them is Lucho Gonzalez," Deschamps said.

"Arsene Wenger believes that it is a great player who could be useful to his team even though he does not fit in with his recruitment policy."

"He wanted him on loan but it was not acceptable to us, there are no negotiations," he added.

Arsenal continue their Premier League campaign at home to Liverpool on Saturday.
