Former Chelsea captain Gary Cahill is a target for Premier League rivals Arsenal, according to a report.

Arsenal are reportedly one of a number of Premier League clubs in the running to sign free agent Gary Cahill following his release by Chelsea.

The 33-year-old said goodbye to Chelsea supporters at the end of last season after an eight-year spell with the West London outfit.

Cahill, who made 290 appearances for the Blues in all competitions, fell out of favour under former boss Maurizio Sarri and is now seeking a new club.

According to 90min, the English centre-back will be offered the chance to stay in the top flight as Arsenal and Aston Villa are both keen on signing him, while West Ham United and Crystal Palace are also rumoured to have showed an interest.

Former Villa defender Cahill is believed to have prioritised joining a club in London.
