Milos Raonic has booked his spot in the third round of Wimbledon after recording a 7-6 6-4 6-2 victory over Andreas Seppi on Thursday afternoon.
A tight opening first set saw both players hold their six service games to force a tie-break, but it was Raonic that came through the breaker 7-5 to open up a one-set lead in London.
Seppi continued to match the number six seed in the early stages of the second set, but a Raonic break at 3-3 allowed the Canadian to take control and serve it out for a 6-4 success.
Seppi held his first two serves of the third set, but Raonic secured back-to-back breaks at 2-2, in addition to two holds to triumph in the second-round match in fairly routine fashion.
Raonic, 25, who will face American Jack Sock in the next round, reached the semi-finals of Wimbledon in 2014.
