Laura Robson expecting to be fit for Wimbledon

Laura Robson confirms that she will be fit to play at Wimbledon this year despite pulling out of Eastbourne with a thigh injury.

Laura Robson has announced that she will be fit to feature at Wimbledon despite pulling out of her qualifier at Eastbourne on Sunday.

The 22-year-old withdrew from her match against Madison Brengle while trailing 4-6 0-1 having felt a strain in her right thigh.

The start of Wimbledon is now just a week away, but Robson is confident of recovering in time to feature on home soil.

Robson reached the last 16 of Wimbledon in 2013, but she has been plagued by injuries in recent years and has since plummeted to 294th in the world.
