Croatia's Ivan Dodig admits that he cannot wait to face Andy Murray at the US Open.

Ivan Dodig has expressed his happiness at being drawn to play Great Britain's Andy Murray in round two at the US Open.

The Croatian, who has never played against Murray at a Grand Slam, set up the encounter courtesy of a 6-0 6-1 6-2 victory over Hiroki Moriya last night.

Looking ahead to the match against the Olympic gold medallist, Dodig admitted that he would have to be at his best to have any chance of advancing through to round three.

"For me it's great. I will be really, really happy to play on a big court," he told reporters. "I have some experience with some other guys, but with him it's the first time for me.

"Of course it's going to be tough, but I have to focus on my game and try to play my best on the court."

Dodig is currently ranked 116 in the world standings.
