Kyle Edmund has suffered a three-set defeat to Ricardas Berankis in the semi-finals of the Astana challenger.
Since his first-round exit at Wimbledon, the British number six has moved up to a career-high ranking of 267, and he will continue his rise up the standings after his performance this week.
However, the 19-year-old couldn't cap off a fine few days after letting slip a one-set lead against the world number 141.
Edmund took the first set 7-5 and was a break up in the second before he conceded 11 games in a row to fall to a 7-5 4-6 0-6 defeat.
Despite the setback, Edmund will move up at least 30 places in the world rankings when they are released at the start of next week.
