Eugenie Bouchard through to Wuhan last four

Canada's Eugenie Bouchard is through to the semi-finals of the Dongfeng Motor Wuhan Open after a straight-sets win over Alize Cornet.

Eugenie Bouchard has recorded a straight-sets victory over Alize Cornet to book her place in the last four of the Dongfeng Motor Wuhan Open.

The 20-year-old has struggled for form since making this year's Wimbledon final, but she looked confident in dispatching her French opponent.

The sixth seed was dominant on Cornet's serve during the opening set, allowing the world number 21 just 11 points as she broke three times to move one away from the semi-finals.

Bouchard was also struggling to hold her own serve, but she had too much firepower on her returns and three more breaks of serve ensured that she was able to register a 6-3 7-5 triumph.
