Rafael Nadal says that he is not able to push himself in training due to his knee injury but insists that it is the "right time" to return.

World number five Rafael Nadal has insisted that he still feels levels of "discomfort" as he prepares to return to competitive tennis.

The Spaniard has been out of action since Wimbledon last year due to a knee injury, but the 26-year-old will launch a comeback on the court in the VTR Open in Chile this week.

"I'm still having some discomfort at times which prevents me from training as hard as I want, but you have to start one day and think it's the right time and place," Nadal told El Pais newspaper.

Nadal suffered the injury seven months ago when he was knocked out of Wimbledon in the second round by Lukas Rosol.
