Victoria Azarenka 'not frustrated' by losing number one ranking

Victoria Azarenka insists that she feels no 'frustrations' after losing the world number one ranking to Serena Williams.

Victoria Azarenka has insisted that losing the number one ranking to Serena Williams will not affect her game.

The 23-year-old was knocked off the top spot following Williams's progression into the semi-finals of the Doha Open over the weekend.

"That's so out of my hands," The Telegraph quotes Azarenka as saying. "I have been playing really well, so why should I be frustrated? A ranking is a ranking. It just is how it turns out.

"[Williams has] really changed the women's game, really lifted up the level. She's a legend. I don't know where I'm going to be at 31. Hopefully not playing tennis, but it's definitely an incredible achievement."

The American's achievement of returning to the world number one spot after almost two-and-a-half years was officially confirmed today.
