Angelique Kerber through at French Open

Angelique Kerber drops just four games on her way to defeating Jana Cepelova at the French Open.

World number eight Angelique Kerber booked her place in round three of the French Open thanks to a 6-2 6-2 victory over Jana Cepelova this afternoon.

The German took control of the match during the early exchanges and managed to break her opponent on two occasions to open up a one-set lead.

Then, despite the fact that she was broken midway through the second set, Kerber recorded three breaks of her own to advance through.

She will now take on either Varvara Lepchenko or Elina Svitolina for a place in round four.
