Simona Halep has booked her place in the third round at the French Open with victory over Zarina Diyas.

The 2014 finalist was pushed during the opening set but she was eventually able to secure the win by a 6-2 7-6 scoreline.
The two players shared six breaks of serve during a competitive start to the contest but Halep held her nerve during the resulting tie-break to take it 7-5.
That setback resulted in Diyas falling away in the second, and Halep was able to break a further three times to move through to a clash with Naomi Osaka.
