Roger Federer fit for Davis Cup final

Roger Federer comes through a successful practice session and is deemed fit enough to represent Switzerland at this week's Davis Cup event.

Roger Federer has been declared fit for the start of the Davis Cup finals.

The 33-year-old was considered a doubt for the tournament after pulling out of last week's ATP World Tour Finals with a recurring back injury.

However, Federer underwent a successful practice session this morning and will represent Switzerland against Gael Monfils of France when the competition gets underway tomorrow.

Federer is looking to win his first Davis Cup title.
