Andy Murray ready for Australian Open

Andy Murray says that he is ready for the Australian Open after recovering from a back problem.

Andy Murray has said that he has fully recovered from a back injury that he suffered with last season.

The British number one will take on Go Soeda in the first round of the Australian Open next week.

"My back feels way, way better than it did before the surgery – that is what is very pleasing for me just now," The Mirror quotes him as saying.

"The rest of the body hurts a little bit. It is a little bit frustrating because the back feels better but just because you haven't played matches for four months, a couple of other things hurt and stiffen up."

The Australian Open gets underway on Monday.
