Great Britain's Davis Cup winner Kyle Edmund has been handed a place in the main draw of the Australian Open after Richard Gasquet withdrew from the tournament.
The 20-year-old, who helped Andy Murray and his GB teammates win the Davis Cup in November, was originally three spots outside automatic qualification.
Now, though, Edmund will be included in the main draw as Gasquet, who has a back injury, is the third player, behind Juan Monaco and Thanasi Kokkinakis, to withdraw from the tournament.
The first Grand Slam of the year will get underway in Melbourne on January 18.
