Feng Tianwei wins bronze for Singapore

Feng Tianwei wins bronze for Singapore following a convincing 4-0 win over Japan's Kasu Ishikawa in the table tennis tournament.

Singapore's Feng Tianwei has clinched the bronze medal in the women's table tennis tournament with a 4-0 win over Kasu Ishikawa.

Tianwei took the opening game of the match 11-9 as her Japanese opponent failed to enforce her own style in the early exchanges. However, Ishikawa opened up in the second game with some impressive backhand and forehand plays.

There was some slight controversy from Tianwei's camp as she appeared to launch a number of illegal serves, which went unoticed by the umpire, but the Singapore pro regained composure and eased to a 2-0 overall lead.

Singapore's hopeful continued to dominate, savouring some crucial shots, which deflated Ishikawa as she relinquished the third game 11-6.

Tianwei, who has won the third ever medal for Singapore in Olympics history, finished off the match with a comfortable 11-5.
