Warren Gatland believes that this year's Six Nations tournament will be on open affair.

Wales coach Warren Gatland has said that this year's Six Nations tournament will be an open affair.

Wales last won the championship with a Grand Slam in 2008.

"You've got to be excited about this Six Nations," Gatland told Wales Online. "It's very open and anyone is capable of winning.

"The last four years the tournament has been won by four different countries - Wales, Ireland, France and England - and now you can bring Scotland into that as well.

"I think England are going to find it tough against them in the first game, while Italy are improving all the time."

Wales kick off their campaign against Ireland in Dublin on Sunday.
