Sean Dougall set the tone for the afternoon as he crossed the line inside two minutes.

Ian Keatley kicked the conversion and a further penalty as the home side sailed into a 10-point lead in the 10th minute.

Dave Kilcoyne bundled the ball over the line following good work from the pack and Keith Earls added a third try from a rapid breakaway to give Munster a 22-0 half-time advantage.

James Hook scored Perpignan's first points of the afternoon with a penalty in the 48th minute, but a penalty try and a late try by James Coughlan ensured that not even Joffrey Michel's injury-time effort for the visitors could help them gain a win.
