Leicester Tigers cruise past London Welsh

Leicester Tigers cruise past London Welsh in the Aviva Premiership after securing a 5-26 victory.

Leicester Tigers have seen off the challenge of London Welsh to record a 26-5 victory in the Aviva Premiership this afternoon.

It was a scrappy start at the Kassam Stadium as Freddie Burns missed two penalties for Leicester early on.

Nick Scott eventually got the game's first try for Welsh following a smart crossfield kick by Seb Jewell.

Gordon Ross could not add the extras, meaning Leicester had the chance to go in front after Harry Thacker scored his first Premiership try.

Poor kicking was emerging as a familiar theme throughout the half, however, and Burns again went wide as the chance went begging.

Leicester did not dwell on it and they took the lead on the stroke of half time through Thacker, who charged over to score on the left.

The away side went further in front after the break, as Graham Kitchener scored following good combination play from Anthony Allen, Robert Barbieri and Adam Thompstone.

Barbieri then got amongst the scorers himself after barging over for a bonus-point score.
