David Humphreys has said that Matt Kvesic was "very apologetic" after being sent off in the first half of Gloucester Rugby's win over London Irish in the Aviva Premiership.
The flanker was shown a red card just over 20 minutes into the 35-13 win for a dangerous tackle on Tomas O'Leary.
Gloucester's director of rugby told BBC Sport: "Matt is very disappointed and is very apologetic to the group. He was a little bit unfortunate but it was an automatic red card under the letter of the law.
"There were mitigating circumstances as there was no intent. We will go home and have a look at it but a ban is a likelihood bearing in mind World Rugby's stance on this matter."
The win leaves Gloucester ninth in the Aviva Premiership table.
